    Before you leave

We’ve put together the below packing checklist to help you prepare for your time in the UK or Ireland. Please remember, the climate in the UK and Ireland is variable, so bring clothes for both warm and cold weather.

    Packing checklist

    • Clothing and shoes for all seasons, including comfortable shoes for walking, an umbrella, and cold weather accessories
    • Plug adaptors for electrical items (UK plug sockets take three rectangular pins)
    • Originals of all important documents, and photocopies for cover (in case you misplace the originals)
    • Money in £ pounds sterling or travel cheques
    • Plane tickets, passport, visa (if applicable), birth certificate and home driving licence (if you have one)
    • All correspondence from your school, including your offer letter and accommodation contract letter
    • Evidence of your funding for tuition fees and living costs, including sponsor letter if applicable
    • Health certificates, vaccination records and any important medical information
    • Any necessary insurance documents

In addition, we strongly recommend keeping the following items easily accessible in your hand luggage:

    •  All important documents
    •  Enough money for your first couple of weeks
    •  Any valuable items, such as electronics or jewellery

    What Not To Pack

Check with your airline to find out how much you can carry on your flight, and remember that most things can be purchased when you arrive. To help make your journey smooth and without delay, please remember to place any sharp or flammable objects (such as razors or nail tools) and all liquids over 100ml in your hold luggage.
