At all of our schools, you can choose to live with a homestay host that lives a short distance away from your school.
By choosing to live at a homestay, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in English culture, spending time with your hosts and practising English outside of the classroom.
You’ll live in a home with a local host and up to three other students. Your host may be a single person or a couple with or without children. They may also have pets (this could be dogs, cats, birds or any other kind of domesticated animal). Our host’s age, nationality, and background may vary, but we make sure that the main language spoken in the house is English. It’s important that you communicate any preferences you have regarding this, and we will do our best to accommodate.
Half-board meals are included Monday to Friday and full-board meals on weekends as standard. A full-board option is available for a fee. Menu and meal times will depend on your host. Special dietary requirements or food allergies must be declared at the time of booking so that the host can be advised accordingly.
You will have access to common areas such as the kitchen and living room. You will share the bathroom. Your bedroom will have a bed and some storage space for your clothes. A desk and chair will be also be available within the house. Please ensure you are clean and tidy and respect your host’s space.
You will have to use public transport to travel to and from the school. The average travel time is up to 45 minutes, but it can increase due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. roadworks) or in busy periods. You should expect to pay between £10 and £25 for a weekly bus, train or tram ticket, depending on local availability.
Let us know the dates of your stay and any additional preferences at least 4 weeks prior to your expected arrival.
Make your payment using one of our online payment options or by contacting the team at your chosen school.
We will be in touch around 2 weeks prior to your arrival date to confirm your accommodation details.
If you live within 45 minutes of our Manchester and Liverpool schools and have a spare room, you may be suitable for hosting an international student.
