We want to make your transistion to studying abroad as easy as possible. Here is some useful information to help you prepare for arriving in the UK or Ireland ahead of beginning your NCG study journey.
When you arrive in the UK or Ireland, you will be directed through customs, where you will need to show your passport or valid ID.
Information for Non-EU students:
You will need to show the following documents to a customs official on arrival in the UK or Ireland:
Please note, depending on your type of visa, your passport will show a validity of only 1 month (Home Office call this a 30 day vignette to enter the country). This means that you must obtain your Bio-metric Resident Permit upon your arrival. You should have been given further information about this when you obtained your visa. When you arrive you may need to register with the police (please check your visa copy to confirm). This is the standard procedure. Please speak to a member of the team on your first day for more information.
There are a number of ways to get from the airport to your school or accommodation. Please visit the relevant school page for more information about travelling to and from the airport.
Our accommodation usually runs from Sunday to Sunday. This gives you a chance to settle in the day before your classes start. This may vary, however, so please check your documentation before you book travel.
When arriving in the UK or Ireland, please make sure you have the relevant information or confirmation ready to help you arrive safety at your accommodation.
If you have chosen residential accommodation, a confirmation will be sent to you with details of what time you can arrive and other check-in information.
If you have chosen homestay accommodation, we will send you a confirmation with your host’s address, a brief description of the other occupants of the home, surrounding area, etc. We try and take on board any reasonable requests when placing students into homestay accommodation, including dietary and health related.
If you have secured your own accommodation in a rental home or elsewhere, please ensure you have all the relevant information required before arriving there. We do not take responsibility for your accommodation when booking outside of NCG.
It is important to secure health insurance ahead of your arrival in the UK. The price will vary based on the length of your stay. If required, we can help you arrange this. Please contact our admissions team for more information.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the New College Group family! If you require any further information, or if we can help make your arrival in the UK or Ireland easier, please speak to a member of the team.
